Analytics & Cookies
Last updated 22nd November 2025
Alpaca Tickets uses analytics cookies to help event organisers understand how their events perform. Under the UK Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, analytics cookies used solely for statistical purposes are exempt from requiring prior consent. However, we believe in transparency, so this page explains exactly what we collect and gives you the choice to opt out.
What We Collect
When you visit an event page, we collect:
- Anonymous session identifier – A randomly generated ID stored in a cookie to track your journey through the purchase process. This cannot identify you personally.
- Page path – Which event pages you visited (e.g., “/events/abc123”).
- Referrer – Where you came from (e.g., Facebook, Google). We only store the domain and path, not any query parameters.
- Campaign parameters – UTM tags from marketing links (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, etc.) to help organisers understand which marketing channels are effective.
- Conversion events – Whether you started checkout, completed a purchase, or abandoned checkout.
- Browser type – General information about your browser for compatibility purposes.
What We Don't Collect
- Your name or email address (unless you make a purchase)
- Your IP address
- Your precise location
- Your browsing history outside Alpaca Tickets
- Any personal information that could identify you
How Event Organisers Use This Data
Event organisers see aggregated, anonymised statistics through their dashboard:
- Page views and unique visitors – How many people are looking at their event.
- Traffic sources – Which websites, social media platforms, or campaigns are driving visitors.
- Conversion rates – What percentage of visitors start checkout and complete purchases.
- Marketing effectiveness – Which promotional efforts (Facebook ads, email newsletters, etc.) lead to ticket sales.
This helps organisers make informed decisions about promoting their events and understanding their audience.
