1. Who Is Responsible for Your Data?
When you purchase tickets through Alpaca Tickets:
- The Event Organiser is the data controller for your personal information. They decide how your data is used for their event.
- Alpaca Tickets acts as a data processor on behalf of the Event Organiser. We provide the ticketing platform and process your data according to our agreement with the organiser.
- Our payment provider processes your payment card details. They act as a data controller for payment and fraud prevention purposes.

2. Information We Collect
When you purchase tickets, we collect the following information on behalf of the Event Organiser:
Information You Provide
- Your name
- Your email address
Information Collected by Our Payment Provider
When you pay for tickets, you are redirected to a secure checkout page. Our payment provider collects:
- Payment card details
- Billing address
- Device and browser information (for fraud prevention)
Alpaca Tickets does not have access to your full card number.
Analytics Information
We use analytics cookies to help Event Organisers understand how their event pages perform. Under the UK Data (Use and Access) Act 2025, analytics cookies used solely for statistical purposes are exempt from requiring prior consent. We collect:
- An anonymous session identifier (a random code, not linked to your identity)
- Which event pages you visited
- Where you came from (e.g., a social media link or search engine)
- Whether you completed a purchase
We do not collect:
- Your IP address
- Your precise location
- Your browsing history outside our platform

4. Who We Share Your Information With
- The Event Organiser – receives your name, email, and ticket details to manage their event
- Payment provider – processes your payment securely
- Email provider – sends your order confirmation
We do not sell your personal information to third parties or use it for marketing purposes.
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Order information: Retained for 7 years for legal/tax purposes
- Analytics data: Retained for 2 years, then deleted
The Event Organiser may retain your information according to their own policies.
6. Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your data (subject to legal requirements)
- Object to certain uses of your data
- Receive your data in a portable format

You have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how your data is handled.

We protect your information using:
- Secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS)
- PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe (we never see your full card number)
- Secure data storage with access controls
